What I’m Listening To on 08/21/2018: Gillian Welch-Red Clay Halo

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for a decade, you heard Gillian Welch in O’ Brother Where Art Though, you just might not have known it.  She gets overshadowed by her more commercially successful contemporaries Emmylou Harris and Allison Krauss, but her voice is nonetheless just as angelic.  She can go from a rueful yet somehow upbeat rendition of the Townes Van Zandt classic “White Freight Liner Blues” where she showcases the range of her pipes to an upbeat little thing in “Red Clay Halo” that’ll get your feet to tapping.  Take a listen.
